The Lagos State Police Command took controversial musician Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, into custody on Tuesday. This arrest came after Portable allegedly failed to settle a N14 million debt stemming from the purchase of a G-Wagon from a local car dealer.

Portable’s purchase of the N27 million vehicle only saw him pay half the amount, N13 million, and he reportedly withheld the remaining N14 million, citing issues with the car’s condition. The car dealer, upon multiple attempts to secure the outstanding payment, approached law enforcement, leading to Portable’s apprehension.

Confirming the arrest, Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated, “Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought G-Wagon for N27m, paid N13m and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today.”

This incident underscores the legal ramifications of financial obligations and consumer transactions, shedding light on Portable’s ongoing legal battle concerning the high-end vehicle.
